That would explain Merkur's known quality control issues....
I think it's just a rumor. The build quality between a Parker, and a Mekrur is drastic!!
Why would a company (Parker) who is capable of making a quality razor, choose to make crappy razors under their own brand name?

Has anyone heard about or tried the Parker's with the new 2010 head design? Is the build quality on the newer production run any better?
I have the 96r with the new 2010 tto head and I'm very pleased with it

I havethe 22R and 82R with the new TTO head. It is great. Period. Perfect allignment, smooth shave. Quality with a capital Q. THere is nothing not to like. Parker did the right thing here. They've come along away in a few years.

I bought a 91R and the blade would not line up correctly for even exposure. I just tossed it in the trash.
I had the 82r with a similar alignment problem. The blade bar had way too much play in it and it was difficult to get the blade even. I thought the finish was very poor compared to anything else I've used (merkur, EJ and Gillette).
Mine is sitting right next to Rainman's.

Compared to others issues, it works fine, even gap, even exposure, some very minor platting flaws which you can't see in a photo.
