Trying to decide between a Gold Slant HD, or the Barberpole Sledgehammer slant. Anyone have any thoughts? I've read the reviews, but am still having a hard time deciding. Is there a really significant weight difference between the two razors?

In Germany there are MUCH more 37c-users, than 39c. Surely there is a reason.

I prefer long handled heavier razors so I vote for the 39C. I'd go with what you prefer with other razors.
The 37C is 3 1/4" total length and 76 grams.

Hmmm, at least one reason could be that the 37c came out years (decades?) before the 39c, right?
That being said, I have the 39c and even thought it's my best shaver, I prefer smaller razors and will eventually get the 37c to replace it.

The handle length was the biggest thing for me in opting for the 37C... I do like the 'G' version more though looks-wise.
I haven't hung onto any of the 'barberpole' razors I've had... I like the weight in some cases, but too long for me and felt awkward.

I have both. I like the Sledgehammer best. I like the added length and being able to let the weight do the work. Really reminds me not to use any pressure.

The only razors I've ever used are a 39C and a 34C. Although not an experienced shaver, I manage to get a closer shave and less irritation using the 39C, but I find it a bit cumbersome to use because of its size and weight. Currently I'm looking for a razor with a "Butterfly" mechanism, but if I won't be satisfied with such a razor, I surely will reach for a 37G.
