I had a transaction with blady77 about a month ago. Haven't heard from him since acknowledging receiving my funds. Does any member know this person or had dealings with him? His personal says he is from NY. I don't know if something happened to him or he is just a scam artist. There is no money in his paypal account so I guess I'm just out of luck as far as being reimbursed. If he is a scammer maybe the forum administrators can look into it and remove him from the membership so this doesn't happen to someone else.

I can't find anyone with that user name in the Members List. Appears that he has already been removed from the rolls.

You are right. I still have the pm and can bring it up that way but not on the members list. I checked before I bought and he was on it along with some posts and he had been a member since Dec. 08. Looks like a scammer has been at work. I have been buying and selling with no problems up to now. Buyer beware I guess. His posts seemed legitimate, just hard to tell. PayPal is no help unless the person has money in his account. So the safe, secure buying with PayPal is only good if the person has money in his account? Prior to this I thought the purchases were guaranteed by paypal. I guess not, from what they are telling me. Anyways they have closed the claim with no recourse from me. It is only $29 but kind of tees you off.

I think Paypal is only elpful if you put the transaction as not an owed good like most here prefer and you send to a verified address where paypal takes fee for sending them money. That is exactly why I would rather lose a dollar when ever I have transactions on the B/S/T. Sory to hear about your loss.

That's what I did. He paid paypal a sellers fee, about 4%. But they will only refund your money out of his account. If there is no money in his account you are out of luck. He was verified and all that? I wasn't aware of this and thought the transactions were guaranteed by paypal. I posted because Ithought maybe something happened to him but guess it was just a scam since he isn't on the members list any more.

Technically he is not able to sell items on the BST, so if he sold you an item via PMs, then you are most likely out of luck.

If you buy an item on B&B, buy from BST only and make sure they meet the BST guidelines for selling, actively participate and have a good reputation.

Paypal only covers items purchased from ebay. Even then, only items that are designated as covered under the "Buyer Protection Program" in the listing. Other than that you can claim fraud and if Paypal decides in your favor they will try to recover the funds from the seller's Paypal account. If there are no funds then you're SOL.

If you paid through a credit card funded Paypal account you can recover your money by claiming fraud with your credit card issuer. However, since your issuer will be charging back Paypal, that may screw up or void your account with Paypal.

have you tried the contact through icq button thing by his post count? honestly im not entirely certain what that does but i assume icq is a messaging service, a long shot but maybe worth a try.

you might like to touble check he's not on some of the other shaving sites?
(he might be using a different username, but check their BSTs for the same items)

Folks, This member has not been responding to PM's and his access to B&B has been removed to prevent any further abuse of our system of trust. I suggest filing disputes with PayPal or whatever institution you used to send this person funds if you have pending transactions.

The BST forum has an unbelievable amount of smooth, hassle-free, fee-free transactions. Unfortunately every once in a while someone tries to take advantage of our system. I am sorry for those of you that lost out on transactions with this individual and wish you better trades moving forward.
