Thanks for pointing this out. I'm guessing that's some nice product given the cost. But I don't think my budget can accommodate it right now.

I do not understand why International shipping is so expensive. I bought some Kent brushes from eBay, and it was only about 5 GBP, about 6.3 Euros, to ship from England to USA.

When I got some Tabac Luxury Soap from DrIdiot in Singaporte, and a Progress knob from IKon in Thailand, the shipping was even less.

Granted, it took about 5 weeks for the Kent package to arrive, but this was during the Xmas holidays when the mail-order pipeline is clogged to the max. The deliveries from SE Asia took about 10 days each.

I've waited this long to get some MdC ... I can wait 5 weeks longer. But I'm not going to pay 20 Euro shipping, even if they get it to my front door the next day.

Shipping for the 170g unscented soap to my residence in Halifax came to: $22.05.

Naturally I declined the order. I think that is just too much for shipping, so I'll hold out 'till a better price is to be found.

So, for me it didn't cost 20 Euros to ship, but 22 dollars is still pretty high, in my estimation. It may be that France has
atrocious postal rates; I'm not sure.

The soap which is in a heavy glass jar and box themselves weigh 1.25+ lbs, so with the shipping box and filler, I'd guess 2 lbs or slightly over.

Thanks Bruce! I used my MdC this morning that I bought in April, and thought how in the heck I have not made a dent in it yet when I have used it over 25 times!
How long do you think it would stay good unopened?

I always take comfort knowing that any thread regarding Martin de Cadre will be littered with complaints and bewilderment about the price of shipping, the price of the soap, or both.

i paid $60 shipped for my single jar, so $53 does seem like a savings.

take it or leave, it is what it is, you won't find it in any retail or online vendor, that's just the way it is.

shipped from France to my Door in about 8 days, in a large truck proof box, i have no complaints pay for that shipping and tracking...some of the packages inside canada cost that much or more. and to be honest, i can't ship a 1 lb box from CAD to US for that under $20 if i want tracking.

to put it in perspective, a 2lb box from CAD to US with insurance and delivery confirmation would cost me $28.44

Folks think MdC are out to get them with shipping. I cringe every time I have to send a package to my wife's family in Romania. $25 for 2 lbs. Most of the time the contents cost much less than shipping. I figure if you are willing to fork over so much for a soap then shipping should be the last concern. I am sure Ferrari owners never complain about a gas guzzler tax or shipping? The box I got from them could have been dropped from a 3 story building. Thats life I guess. Thank god they aren't in the middle east.
