What's new

McGraw Southern Blend, anyone?

I love this stuff! I am not great with scents (nor have I smelled pipe tobacco or whiskey) so I don't really know the accords. Does this really smell like pipe tobacco and whiskey like some say? Either way, I LOVE it. Makes me think of some smokey jazz club or something.

I have all three of the Mcgraw scents (technically four scents if you count the newest Soul 2 Soul), and I like the Mcgraw Southern Blend the most. To my nose, it has a lot of sandalwood in it, and I quite like Sandalwood.

If you want to stock up cheaply, make sure to hit up your big time retailers the day after Christmas. You can get the 1/2oz bottles of Mcgraw that usually retail for $10 for as little as $5 each.

I like it too. Although, I don't smell the whiskey as much as I do the more smoky/earthy scents.

I wasn't into this stuff last Christmas, but this year I will be going to stock up! And, whatever the main scents are, I love it!

I really enjoy the Southern Blend, but it's a tad too sweet smelling for me. I try to use it only when I know I'll be around people my own age as I think they like it more than an older crowd.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I have to say I love this Southern Blend too. I was able to sample some a while back and was recently able to pick up a 1 oz bottle pretty cheap. Didn't actually try it until this weekend and man I think it's better on my skin than the sample I tried a few weeks ago on a card. I don't detect any of the whiskey notes either and I'm a regular bourbon drinker and scotch drinker, so I'm well attuned to those notes, but don't get much of those in this cologne. I get some of the tobacco notes in it. I detect the Amber in it. Also some sweet woods. Even detect some sandalwood in the base dry-down, though the note breakdown shows none is in it. Yeah pretty good stuff, wish I had come across it when it first hit the market 5 years ago. Been looking for a good subtle masculine scented fragrance to wear when my wife and I go out on date nights. I don't like these new fresh aquatic and fruity/tart frags being marketed to guys today, so I've always has to fall back on the dated traditional masculine scents like Aramis, Stetson Original, CK Obsession, etc, stuff that's not new to most people. But yeah, now that I discovered it, this Southern Blend fits the bill for me!!

Sweet, smokey, whiskey flavours...sounds like a barbecue sauce. I'm intrigued, gonna check it out.
i otherwise despise all things related to country music, but I'll give it a shot.
