Marvis Toothpaste-Who has used it?

I got a tube of Jasmine Mint from my Secret Santa. It smells unique, but I haven't heard much about it. There has to be someone here who has used it.

Thanks.

I like it.

Many balk at the price, but I use only a pea-sized ball and that is more than enough. A tube will last many months. Cheaper than Crest or Colgate? No, the yearly cost is still higher, but it's insignificant even on a poor person's budget.
It does NOT contain Fluoride if that is a concern to you.

I like Marvis. I get it at a shop in St. Paul, MN the Garden of Eden. A little goes a long way, the licorice mint is good. I think it might be a flouride toothpaste. I'll have to check.

I tried the cinnamon, it was ok, tasted like Dentyne gum, but I didn't think it was anything special. No better than Tom's of Maine.

Nope.

Ingredients: Glycerin, Hydrated Silica, Aqua (Water), Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate, PEG-32, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Aroma (Flavor), Cellulose Gum, Xylitol, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Saccharin, Silica, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Eugenol, Methylparaben, Limonene, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben.

Fluoride is sodium monofluorophosphate.

I like the whitening mint and use it everyday. As the poster above said it's more expensive but compared to other things I blow money on it's insignificant. Would love to try the mouthwash.

I use the whitening as well and enjoy t greatly. I like the idea of someone caring what ingredients are used in their toothpastes

I never used it. Is it comparable to Parodontax?

Edit: but I think Parodontax is not readily available outside Europe?

My favorite is the Amarelli Licorice and my 5 y/o son loves the Aquatic Mint, they both have Sodium Fluoride listed on the label.

Since you got me checking ingredients, I'm switching to Trader Joe's, no SLS or Sodium Fluoride, 6oz tubes from ~$7.00-$8.50, Marvis was ~$5.50 @3.8oz.

Interesting... I pulled those ingredients from the web, I'll have to check my tube and some others next time I'm at WCS.

I really, really liked the Kent brushes, but I had problems with the bristles breaking and getting lodged between my teeth and gum. If pressed, I can't say that my need for gum surgery next week is not at least in small part due to this... though it is likely a procedure that I would have eventually needed anyways.
I went through two Kent brushes and I'm back to the Oral-B Medium.

I also can't use those new brushes that have the rubber parts mixed in with the bristles... they really irritate my gums.

No thanks. It contains Sodium Saccharin.

I bought a tube of the Jasmine Mint a good seven or eight years ago. I still have some left, which gives you an idea of how much I like it. I much prefer Tom's of Maine. Ever since using Tom's, toothpastes with sweeteners taste artificial to me.

As for toothbrushes, I'm Sonicare all the way. The (relatively) new Diamond Clean heads are very effective, more so than previous brush head models. I have to admit I'm curious about the Kent brushes, but not enough to actually use them. Old-fashioned may work well for shaving, but when it comes to oral care, I put my faith in technology.

Oh, and while I'm at it, I'll put in a plug for TheraBreath mouthwash (original formula). Fantastic stuff. I've been using it faithfully for over ten years.

rich, good luck with the gum surgery. I had something probably not dissimilar last month. In part, due to decades of over aggressive brushing. I've since given up the kent and acca kappa brushes and have switched to very soft bristle and sensodyne-type paste.

What timing on this thread. I had a cleaning today and I am going to have to get a scaling cleaning for a bit of gum desease. I was looking around for better pastes to help with this.

Anyone have suggestions .

My condition is from lack of proper care.
Regular brushing, but not trips to the dentist.

For so many years I had no insurance or poor insurance, that for the doc or dentist, I tend to only go when something is wrong.
That's been about once every 10 years for the dentist, when I get some kind of infection in my gums.
Last trip I got a small filling... this dentist had a hard time finding it, and when he did find it, he said that it did not need to be done.
I got my father's teeth. Mom? When she passes on, forget the house... I want the dental work!
