Martin de Candre Order Arrived Today

I ordered from the sale Martin de Candre currently has going on (see "Shopping and deals") and my order arrived in just nine days from France!!!!

I just went smell my MdC because of this. Great soap, possibly my favorite scent in soaps as of right now.

Mine arrived today as well. I couldn't resist a little test lather. Oh my word, what an explosion of fantastic lather with very little loading. Can't wait to give it a full road test tomorrow.

Mine came yesterday. Crazy fast shipping from France. I also picked up the copra oil. I plan to test it all out tomorrow morning with my Tradere loaded with a feather.

I refreshed my Limette cologne which is, by far, my favorite limes scent.

Can't wait for tomorrow morning!

UPDATE

Well, what a pleasant experience. My feather was on its 4th shave (my max) and I loaded my brush which was pretty damp. I purchased the smaller jar, so it is a little messy whilst loadinahead the lather tends to go over the sides. I need to figure out the ratios, but decided to face lather, which I really only do with ADP, but it seemed safer.

A very nice lather, and a really good shave. The scent is very muted. Nicely moisturizing and a very nice glide.

Here is the nicest part: 4 shaves on a feather did leave me a bit irritated under the jaw, so I used the MdC Chopra Oil after a witch hazel splash. I've never used anything like it. I just dipped a finger in, rubbed my palms together and wow- instant soothing. Instant absorption. Beautiful scent. The best post shave experience I can remember. I highly reccommend the stuff.

To end a perfect shave perfectly, two spays of MdC Limette (my favorite limes scent) to the neck and on each wrist and look out world, here I come.

Just a really excellent experience. Looking forward to a bowl shave tomorrow morning.

I too bought some on the 29th & picked up my Soap from the Post Office on the 6th, very fast delivery! I ordered "Le Beurrier" & "Le Cannele", 240 grams total right ~$70.00 including Delivery, or ~3.43 Grams per dollar. Really not a bad deal, if you use 1/2 gram per shave, that's ~14.3 cents worth of Soap... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

~40 swirls of my Shavemac Silver-Tip Fan @ 45/21, gave me a bowl full of lather, very slick and enough for ~2 passes & touch-up and another ~2 or 3 down the drain. A bit excessive but it was my first lather with this, I'll be testing it again Monday, a Face Lather with my Vie-Long Horse @44/20, maybe 10 swirls for the load.

BTW, I did like the scent, a bit faint to my nose, I picked up some Lavender with a hint of Rosemary. My sniffer is a bit shot so I'm sure the scent is a bit stronger than I detect, quite refreshing IMO.

Lol. I'll buy that.

Enjoy this fantastic soap. It is a lathering machine. My face always feels great afterwards. If you are looking for a matching after shave give balsamic water from Myrsol a try.
Have fun shaving with mdc

MdC is excellent. Since the heat hit our area, I've been locked onto QCS Vostok and Mystic Water CLV. I associate the scent of MdC with the Spring/Fall and will likely put it back into use in a few months.

Mine arrived in 7 days from France to Hawaii. I've been secretly hoping Monday morning would arrive quickly, just to shave with it!

I got a sample of MDC and had a first shave with it today. Firstly I was amazed at how little I needed for a shave. I think 5-10 swirls did the trick. I really enjoyed the lavender scent (my first lavender cream) and the shave was comfortable and smooth. But I could not justify spending so much on it so as to buy a full puck. For me few other soaps and creams (XXX, O Melhor etc, GFT coconut) perform similarly at lower price points. I also have an order of CF lavendar on the way, that I am hoping will provide a cheaper substitute.

Ofcourse YMMV :)

MdC makes a lavender scent shaving soap now!?
