Marlborough Country: Come to where the flavor isn't?

I'm a big fan of D.R. Harris Arlington soap (performance and scent), so i tried Marlborough today expecting an equally present and interesting fragrance, but all i get is a very light sandalwood note.
It shaves smooth as butter btw, just not a big hitter in the scent dept.

Is this just a weak puck or is this what Marlborough is supposed to be?

Have i just been spoiled (or olfactorilly damaged) by my beloved Tabac?

I've used both Marlborough and Arlington Harris soaps. I prefer Marlborough. The scent strength was the same in both of my soaps. light, not overpowering, but present.

I have both Arlington and Marlborough and whilst I prefer the former, the Marlborough scent tends to grow on you. Both produce superb lather with ease.

I have a puck of Marlborough and have noticed that it does not give off a strong scent. I'm cool with that. I don't really want my soap to have much of a scent as it may clash with my EDT.
Scent aside , it is a wonderful performer.

I bought a Marlborough stick about 2 months ago, and for the first 2 weeks I considered giving it away. I hated the scent, which was barely even there and it just didn't work for me at the time. I decided to keep it for a bit longer and I'm glad I did. The scent grew on me, and I too like the fact that it's a lighter scent. I've barely even dented the size of the shave stick and I'm already considering picking a refill up in a bowl.

I have both their stick and aftershave in this scent and love it. Seems like sandlewood and cedar. Nice and woody without overstepping into Vetiver funkland.

...but i like Vetiver funkland :tongue_sm
Thanks guys, it is growing on me. Still thinkin about milling it and adding some EO to the mix. Guess i like my soap like i like my women: Strong and German

Sounds typical. As someone else in this thread already said, I'd describe it as a light sandalwood/cedar.

Used Marlborough again for 2 consecutive days and I'm still not sure if I like the scent or not. Oh well, guess I'll just have to keep trying. The shaves are excellent though.

While everything I have tried in the DRH line has been excellent in terms of performance the Marlborough collection scent just did not sit well for me, just a little to smokey for my liking. Great products in general from this house.
