Manliness

I got the book The Art of Manliness (by them same people) as a Christmas gift and I absolutely love it! It has a wealth of information with some added humor too. Very cool book.

There is no better way to live than following most of their tips. I mean, who doesn't want to be manly?

Great site! I actually found it before this one - the article on "Shave Like Your Grandfather" got me started!!

That got me here too.

Somebody posted artofmanliness.com on a truck forum I'm on, I read that article, and was instantly hooked.

One of my first memories is shaving with my papa(grandfather) when I was about 3 or 4. He had a shaving mirror, brush and bowl and would lather both of our faces. He gave me a little T shaped piece of plastic for me to "shave" with. I still have the mirror, his brush, and that little T shaped piece of plastic. I wish I still had the DE he used. I used to have it with the rest but it got lost somewhere between when I got that stuff when I was still a kid and now. He died when I was still little and I only have a few memories of him.

My son is 4 now. I am going to take that little piece of plastic and let him "shave" with me. Hard to beat the simple things in life like that.

Great story, and welcome to the forum!

I came across this site the other day and thought that this was a great place to share. Many of you may already have seen this, but it was new to me.

Enjoy

I'd enjoy it more if the author of the blog didn't revise history to fit his own perceptions of what constitutes 'manly.' Claiming in one article that Achilles and Patroclus were just "friends," and Alexander the Great and Hephaestion were "war pals" makes my eyebrow arch. ;)

I mean, if you are going to propose a personal opinion about a topic, than have at it. We're all entitled to our opinions. But when you start revising history to lend credence to your theories, than I have to wonder just how much worth those theories have.

Otherwise, an interesting site to be sure.
