MAAS ok for rhodium plate?

Before I start shining up my new Brit Aristocrats, is MAAS polish ok for use on rhodium plate? Is there another method or polish anyone can recommend for it? Thanks.

I believe the Rhodium plating is only on the handles. The razors from your other post look pretty good to me, especially the handles. While I don't think Maas will hurt the Rhodium, I prefer a very light polishing if any. The caps on your razors are most likely nickel and Maas won't hurt them, but again go easy. Those are really beauties you have there.

Rhodium plating is harder than nickel plating. It will be fine.

+1 But I've gotten into the habit of applying MAAS with a soft and damp toothbrush (over the sink of course) so the solution is somewhat diluted. Also helps get into hard to reach spots. For especially tough areas I'll apply it dry with a rag but the semi-wet method works for most of my jobs. By the way, a final polish with a toothbrush and toothpaste really makes 'em shine!!

So, I found the answer to my question, and it is "yes and no". Forst, the rhodium plate doesn't corrode or tarnish or oxidize in any way, so there's really nothing to polish off...it goes on purple, and comes off purple. Secondly rhodium is very hard, so minor scratches and stuff are either rare or pretty much un-polishable with just elbow grease. What it DID help with was getting any other dirt or grime off, but htere are easier ways to do that.

I used scrubbing bubbles on the #21, gave it a little scrub, let it soak, scrubbed again, and it was clean. Pretty much done at that point...a nice buffing with a microfiber cloth would have been enough. I then used the MAAS, and it looked dirtier because that stuff gets in really hard to reach corners and doesn't want to come off easily. So then I tried Bill's suggestion of toothpaste and brushing, and viola! Clean! A quick dry and buff, and it looks damn near perfect. Thanks for the tip Bill!

So, to sum up: in the future I will just use Scrubbing Bubbles and then toothpaste and a buffing cloth. Rhodium's some pretty cool stuff, lol...skip the MAAS and save it for nickel plate.
