What's new

lucky tiger molle shaving cream.

I have been wet shaving since I was 18 (67 come January). In 1980 my barber put me on lucky tiger cream, I have used this almost exclusively since then. I made a major purchase in dec. 2007 & have about 1/4 jar left. Purchased a tub about 3 weeks ago & the formula has changed, clogs brush & no lather. No problem with the old stock.talked with mfg. & company was bought out about a year ago & they have been unable to shed any light on what has happen.the differences now are 12 oz instead of 16oz. Jar is same except it does not say sandals lucky tiger. It has always said brushless but it gave a great lather & did not gum up brush like the new product does. Can anyone shed any light on what has happen? now I have to find another shave cream & that seems easier said than done. Thanks in advance. Grayson Russell.

I have only known Lucky Tiger Molle as a brushless cream for at least the last 4-5 years. My last purchase was probably about 2 years ago from Appleton and I detected no difference from my previous tub two years before that. I have noticed that over the years formulas do have a tendency to change on most things as manufacturers find new ingredients or make changes based on their process, this is not necessarily always a bad thing.

Thanks for the reply. The new stuff works fine, you just can't use a brush anymore & you don't get any lather. Iam not going to stop using a brush so I just need to find another cream. Grayson

Mr. Russell, you might also try one of the other internet based barber supply houses. They might have some older stock 16 ounce tubs you can stockpile. If not, then the recommendation for Fraser's is very good advice.
