Love for Shave Soap

Well, I first started out using Shaving Cream, after receiving a shave stick from Saint Charles ... I have to say ... I love shave soap. Seems to be very moisturizing ... and the stick especially, is great for a quick shave!

Of late I have also started using Proraso Green Tea shave soap. That product is also great! Makes a great lather, very moisturizing.

Lets hear about some popular soaps you guys are using!

TOBS Lavender
6 different Honeybee Soaps (I think I have Lavender, Cool Water, Almond, Lime, Bay Rum...and...Peppermint)

By the above list, I've given it away that SWMBO enjoys Lavender...

I love soap...would love to buy more, but I figure I'll do so after getting even better at consistent lathering (then I'll buy about 10 more at once to smooth the shipping costs...:thumbup1:).

Right now I'm using Col. Conk's Almond shave soap. It was the best thing I could find locally and it smells really good. Looking forward to trying many different kinds.

Mama Bear (good luck picking a flavor)
Saint Charles Shave (Good stuff)
Ogallala (I've been stuck on this for that last few weeks and can't stop)

I don't dare try anymore as I can't use up what I have.

Oh wow, where do I start. The basics should include Tabac, MWF, and perhaps Proraso which you have indicated that you have. Mama Bear and Honeybee soaps are excellent with an amazing array of scents. I also enjoy some Col. Conk. If you want to spend a little more, I would recommend Taylor of Old Bond or any of the other established English soaps.

Enjoy your experience and remember what works for one does not necessarily work for another. I have found that the experience of a soap rotation very enjoyable and satisfying, perhaps you will as well.

Tabac is my No1. I know the love creates hype, but this just creates a great lather.
L'Occitane Cade is new to me, but seems pretty good and classy scent.
Proraso - not a great deal of difference to the cream IMO
Conk is just simple and honest, but doesn't last as long.
T&H Luxury has just arrived...

My 2 creams don't get much love. Whenever I try them again, my shaves are poorer for it. No problems, just can't get as close in some places.

Mitchell's Woolfat...will give you the best lather to shave, the best lather for moisturise and the best lather to eat...Just kidding, it does smell very nice and a bit buttery though LOL

SCS was what changed me from a cream& bowl to a soap & face guy...now I have 8 of Sue's concoctions, and also have Tabac, Trumper's Lime (thx again Austin!), Pen's English Fern and Blenheim Bouquet (new stuff), C&S #88, and DR Harris Arlington and Marlborough in my regular rotation. I'd like to give the Moos a go too, if anyone wants to PIF me some (hint, hint, lol).

It's CADE and AOS for me (Still waiting for the 5 pucks of tabac and 2 of TGQ to arrive). I find those two (CADE and AOS, that is) are really great soaps and think both tabac and TGQ will have to be extraordinary to be on the same level.

Institute Karite
Provence de Sante
Pre de Provence
Mitchell's Woolfat
Tabac

In that order for me.
I've recently gotten a new, larger brush, and am having to relearn my technique. I may reorder my favorites as well.

I see many praising the Saint Charles Shaving soaps. I think I'll try some of those soon as I need to order some more Smoke and Beads anyway.. ..

I am a big fan of DR Harris Lavender. I also have Arlington and Marlborough but I like the shave and the scent of Lavender best.

Honorable mentions:
IK
Pen's EF
Tabac
Mama Bears soaps
Pre de Provence
Provence Santa Green Tea
Cade

(in that order)

For the price Tabac is hard to beat. I convinced my father to buy some and he has almost shelved all his other soaps.
