Loreal Men's Expert Hydra Energetic Turbo Recharger Instant Facial Skin Fuel

Say THAT five times fast!

I posted about this a year ago when I first joined B&B. After winter, it was relegated to under my sink as I discovered all the AS & ASBs that B&Bers love (Proraso, OGBR, SCS, Penhaligon's etc etc etc).

Today...I busted it out on a whim and I still really like this stuff. A GREAT healer and sealer with a nice menthol kick and very moisturizing.

Its not sexy...its not British, or Italian, or Portuguese...or made with pure wool fat, Vitamin E, Tallow or anything else B&Bers love...but it works!

It really can't be that good since it's not sexy...its not British, or Italian, or Portuguese...or made with pure wool fat, Vitamin E, or Tallow.

lol

I will check it out next time I'm at my local CVS. Thanks.

You wont regret it...great stuff for a quick "go-to" that is available anywhere when your $100 plus dollar Penhaligon's BB splash ASB combo runs out

I especially like it in the winter!

i've used some of the loreal aftershave products for men before i didn't like them. too runny and greasey. for the price nviea works much better.

Weird coincidence... I took my bottle of this stuff out from under the sink just the other day, too. I haven't used it in about 6 months, and the first time I did, I couldn't stand it. I actually liked it a lot using it this week, but instead of using it as an aftershave, I have been using it at night when I get home from work as a little pick-me-up. Woot!

I was wondering when I'd see a review of this stuff.

I had my doubts before I bought it, too. But I like this stuff a lot. It has a light, tight, fresh feel to it. I really feel that it tones and conditions my skin. The slight menthol kick puts me in a get-up-and-go mood, and it never feels heavy, greasy, or tacky. Makes my face feel like a sports car. The scent is fresh and light and lasts just long enough to uplift me, but then fades. It doesn't get in the way of other colognes at all.

I've only used Nivea ASB and a few other splash-on toners, which are nice, but I like the way this stuff feels better. Just a dab about the size of a pea works for me.

Nivea used to be my go-to, but I feel the scent, while nice, is a little too strong and a bit on the artificial and sweet side. And while the moisturizing of Nivea is great, I feel that it puts just the slightest "skin" on my face. Instead feeling totally absorbed, it feels like there's just a little tight layer of balm on the surface. It's still good stuff that I'll continue to use, but I like the L'Oreal better.

It doesn't hurt that I found a clearance deal at my local store; $3 a bottle instead of the $9-$11 retail. I bought like 9 of them. At the retail price, though, I'd go with Nivea as the better value.

I give the L'Oreal Men's Expertizing Hyper-Energizing Turbo-Charging Epidermalizing Skin Fuel a big thumbs up though, admittedly, my experience with ASBs is limited.

In the same category - energizing mentholated gels that are not supposed to be A/S - I prefer the Nivea Cool Kick Energizing Gel.

I use it mostly in hot humid conditions; I don't use it in winter because of the alcohol.

I prefer it to the l'Oreal mentioned here, as it's a bit more moisturizing, due to the shea butter content.

The L'Oreal Mens Expert is essentially reformulated Kiehl's Facial Fuel.
They bought out Kiehl's a little while back & took out a couple of Kiehl's proprietary ingredients, then added a couple of their own to give it a bit more scent.
I essentially use Kiehl's as an all-in-one moisturizer + aftershave balm, and would not hesitate to use the Mens Expert as a second choice :thumbup1:
