Looking to buy a new simpson brush. any recommendations?

In my 13 brush collection my 2 favorites are my Simpson Duke 3 in best and chubby 1 in 2 band super. I'm looking to get a few more simpsons to add to my collection. I'm looking for something with a slightly larger knot (24mm +) and under $200. I'm looking at a chubby 2 in best, polo 8(2 band or best), persian jar 3 in best, tulip 3 in 2 band, and the commodore x3b. Which out of those do you recommend? also where can i find good condition somerset era simpsons brush? especially the duke 3 and chubby2.

They would all be good choices, really. You definitely can't go wrong with a Chubby ll in Best, it is a fine brush indeed. That would be my recommendation.

In regards to a Somerset era Simpson, you just have to keep your eyes peeled. I have seen a few come up for sale on the BST but they are few and far between, no one likes to let go of a Somerset brush usually. I have a Chubby ll and a Tulip ll that are Vulfix era brushes, but set in Somerset rod stock handles. The pinkish/ivory color is breathtaking I think. Good luck in your search!

I have a tulip 3 in 2 band and it is one of my favorites. It has slightly more backbone than my Duke 2 in 2 band. The Simpson 2 band super is currently my favorite hair. I don't think you can go wrong with it.

The Persian Jar is a lovely brush and a top performer. I cannot it fathom its being a disappointment to anyone.

I have had my eye on the Polo in best, I enjoyed my 2 band and I know I would really like the 3 band. The handle is excellent and the loft was great for an all around brush.
