I've been shaving for the first time with Truefitt & Hill Grafton shavingh cream this week. (got a sample)

Man-o-man, what a heavenly scent!!!! I might just break down and buy the cologne. But at $75 smackers a pop, it's a bit steep for me to justify.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a bit cheaper cologne that smells in the ballpark of Grafton shaving cream?

Worst case scenario, I'll go to the ladies at the perfumed court and ask for a 8ml decanter of the real thing for use on special occasions...

I do not think that perfumedcourt.com carries it, but badgerdecants.com does.

Folks on basenotes.com seem to refer to it as a "barbershop fougrere." That give you about an infinity of frags that could be considered to smell something like Grafton.

I really like Grafton. I do not think that anything really smells all that close to it.

I haven't smelled Grafton, but if it's a "barbershop fougere," the leading scent I can think that is classified that same way is YSL's Rive Gauche Pour Homme. You can get it for about $25 through Amazon and other websites.

It likely doesn't smell exactly like Grafton, but it's in the same scent neighborhood. It's the about the best bang for the buck I know of. I have some pricey juice, and RGPH holds its own with any of them. I don't say that lightly. It lasts a long time too which is a real sticking point with me. It's hugely popular with almost everyone in Basenotes. If I was on a tight frag budget, this would be on the top of the list. Actually it's at the top of my list anyway.

It smells like spicy Barbasol- that's about the best way to describe it. It's crazy how reasonably priced it is.

I agree that Grafton is an excellent fragrance. Although I have not compared them myself, it has been said elsewhere on B&B that TOBS Mr Taylor is similar in scent to Grafton.

"Mr. Taylor" by Taylor of Old Bond Street is very close to Grafton. I own, use and love both.
