Looking for reccomendations

I am after some advice.
I have a good collection of colognes and my favourites are Parfum de Nicolai 'New York' and 'Baladin' as well as Floris No89.
I am after some reccomendations for expanding my collection. I seem to be attracted to woody or Oriental fragrances. I have samples of the whole Floris line so I'm right there but I was thinking of Guerlian Vetiver, and Azzaro Pour Homme as future purchases. Given the above info, has anyone got any suggestions, opinions, advice? Any help would be appreciated.

Both Guerlian Vetiver and Azzaro PH are top notch! Also, very different from each other so your frag. wardrobe would do well with both. Of the two, Azzaro is a "go to" very often (for some reason I prefer Vetiver de Puig, maybe because it's a helluva lot cheaper then Guerlian!). Azzaro PH is just, in a word, "classic" - can't go wrong and required in every wardrobe.

My favorite house in general, in terms of bang for buck and uniqueness of scents is probably Caron. Every man should own at least one Caron fragrance. Whether Yatagan , 3rd Man, Pour un Homme or L'anarchiste - they're essential. Their 3rd Man is really a masterpiece!

In terms of your attraction to woody scents - my favorite in this category is without doubt - Gucci Pour Homme. LOVE IT. You really got a try it! Happy Hunting Salty!!

If you seek out Guerlain's Vetiver, I recommend the older formulas over the newer ones, hands down. I also second the Caron recommendations, though my personal preference is just the 3rd man, after trying the rest.

Oxford and Cambridge is something I wouldn't want to be without, from Czech and Speake, and their whole line is really quite nice (if a little expensive.) This thread could go on and on... :)

Use the "perfume by notes" search function on TPC. They also have scent guides with top-rated scents broken down by type. Its a great way to find similar products, read about them, etc.

Thanks to all who replied. I ended up buying Azzaro Pour Homme, Guerlian Vetiver and Floris Vetiver. The Floris is superb and I've only just received the other two. The Guerlian is nice and quite a contrast to the Floris, but my first impression of the Azzaro was not great. The aniseed notes were really strong on first application although now it's been on an hour the woody notes are coming through. It may need a bit more time to grow on me but aniseed is a smell/taste that i've never been that fond of.

I recommend YSL Rive Gauche, although our tastes may be different as I really like Azzaro Pour Homme and wear it frequently. You will be able to find Rive Gauche at a very reasonable price from an on line vendor.

Great ideas here. My favorites mentioned are, in addition to Azzaro, 3rd Man, a masterpiece, and Gucci Pour Homme, which is very strong, so apply conservatively to start and increase the amount as needed for your skin.
