Looking for different AS

I am currently using the original Clubman AS, which I really like. Unfortunately this enthusiam is not shared by my wife. :mad3:She thinks I smell like an old man. She does not like anything that is overpowering, or sweet smelling. One scent she does like is the body wash we both use, which is Japanese and has a charcoal base in it. It does smell very clean and neutral. So I am looking at something along those lines, any ideas?

Try Speick splash. It's a great AS for me, the scent is unobjectionable, and anyway it doesn't linger. In fact I wish it would linger a while longer, but it's a good one to try.

Thanks, I saw it is available online through Amazon, I will try to see if it sold locally, I would hate to pay 20 for something I don't like, but I guess I could trade it here, seems to be popular.

Well, this might be a case where the price is worth it. But you might be able to save a few pennies at http://www.westcoastshaving.com/Speick-After-Shave-Lotion-Splash_p_135.html (oops - out of stock) or http://www.bullgooseshaving.net/spaflos34oz.html or http://gentlemensbest.com/aftershaves.aspx or http://www.royalshave.com/p/425-014-00/speick_aftershave_lotion.html

Speick is a good place to start although it is a bit rugged. For a more refined scent along similar lines try DR Harris Arlington.

I went to a local pharmacy, that St. John Bay, stated carries their AS, when I went in they had a nice display of EJ razors, when I looked at the prices I saw they had the EJ chatsworth barley for $190, a fairly healthy mark up. They did not have the St. John's anymore but had Royall bay rum for $40. I could not find it reviewed here.

Try the line of Booster's Aftershaves. I like the Mosswood and June Clover. They are pretty inexpensive, and if you like the AS, then JM Frasers makes shaving cream to match.

If you don't want to make a blind purchase, you can get samples of the AS and SC from shoboxshave.com.

Royall Bay Rhum is quite a traditional (but might be too medicinal smelling for your SO) bay rum. Fades quickly by the way. DO NOT pay $40 for it, check B/S/T here or other forums or online vendors!

This is close but not exactly what you had in mind:
