Looked but no answer, how to fix knot and brush gap??

Okay so i was sanding down a brush handle so the knot would sit lower, and instead of sanding it straight like this |_| it ended up a bit slanted like this \_/ and when the knot sits at the bottom, the neck of the brush and the hairs have a gap between them. Any idea how i should fix this??

I have the same thing happen to me probably because I use a conical sander. I haven't had a problem yet. I just let the clear epoxy fill the space and give a little extra time for curing,24 hours or so.I did have to make sure the brush sat right but after 10 minutes the epoxy was holding it where I wanted it. So far I have had a good year using my first brush and 6 months on my second with no problems.

The only way to fix this would be drilling a bit deeper so the knot sits deeper - normally knot do widen up above the glue plug - or get a bigger knot...one size up may do the trick.

As long as the knot is seated at the depth you want and the gap is not huge you should be fine. Not sure if the issue is depth or a gap on the side or both? The epoxy will hold the knot and rise up to fill any small gap between the handle and the knot. Just use a clear epoxy and wipe away excess.Or as Rudy says get a bigger knot

Thanks guys! Got it figured out. Ended up reaming out the sides to make it even all around. Pics to come! Knot is in the post box as we speak!
