There is a soap puck with it...it is/was nicely boxed. The Soap smells good, but based on what I have read for reviews I am not expecting much, so I put it on the back of the shelf...I may use it at a later date...for now I will stick to the Ogallala and Tabac products.

That's a beautiful looking set ... I didn't know that Herban Cowboy made anything like that. where did you find it?

and tell us some more about that brush. What grade of badger is it? And what is the handle made from? It looks to be ceramic, since it matches the mug, but its hard to tell from the picture.

This was a Bay find...its custom pottery and it was a buy now for $24.95...He had several...I guess I only need one...but its all I can do not to order another set. AD attack.....:001_rolle

The handle is ceramic The knot is badger...but I don't know what grade...its a little stiffer than I thought it would be, but then its brand new...I just showered it and it will be ready to go in the morning. Because of the short loft, I think it will be firm, and once broken in, it should be a pretty nice brush...its my first badger. Years ago, I had an Avon travel brush...it was awful...then the Surrey came to me, and sat in a drawer till about 2 months ago...so I don't have a lot of experience, but this brush looks like it will work and I love the set.

NEW INFO:

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A BRUSH CAN MAKE!!!! It took half the effort and energy to whip up some lather this morning...and oh how nice that brush felt...just the right ammount of "Scratchy"...softer than the Surrey, but not floppy...and after leaving Hot water on the soap in the mug, that mug heated nicely and kept the lather warm for both "Sudsings"...The old glass mug let the lather get cold while I was shaving off the first coating...I think I am going to become a Pottery mug kind of guy.

looks great... good to hear you're enjoying your new set up. I've never seen a ceramic brush handle before. Sure is purty. Would be a shame if you dropped that sucker though...

Had to grab one also after seeing your post. (thanks alot! :biggrin1:)

The ceramic handled badger brush and mug from Bill Campbell are more than worth it for the price. I'm viewing the soap as packing material

Bill Campbell made those sets. He also made my shaving bowl and all our plates and bowls. His work is amazing. Very nice looking set. That ceramic is really stout stuff, but a fall off the counter could be disastrous. Enjoy it!
