Long Handle reverse persian Jar brush

I love the curves of a persian jar brush and I also love long handled brushes. I started making a persian jar handle when I realized if I turned it over it was a good looking handle. Just needed a top which gives it an old vintage brush look. To bad I cannot find butterscotch colored acrylic which would match some of the old bakelite handles.

The two pieces are held together with a center machine screw which allows me to easily exchange tops. I plan to make some tops of different materials with different knots.

Handle of alternative ivory with a cocobolo wood top.

this is very nice and the fact that you can change the top to accomodate different types of badger grades is very nice :thumbup1:

Very nice design. Where is the screw located? Under the knot?

It right under the knot.

The huge handle next to the ivory piece has a very large top with a 1 1/4 inch deep hole. I am still working on that handle. The deep hole allow me to glue the knot to top of a machine screw and then I can adjust the knot up or down in the hole. The screw fits through both pieces and when I tighten the two pieces it becomes one solid unit. This gives me an adjustable knot that allows me to bury the knot for a chubby type brush or adjust for the maximum bristles to show for a more floppy brush. Not very elegant in design of the adjusting knot but it works.

Your Jessica is wonderful and I am sure the judges will not mark down for the extra weight she gained!:001_rolle

Let me present for your consideration my petite Jessica at 36, 13, 36 mm. Yes, I said 36 millimeters.:tongue_sm

As she states " I am not bad, I'm just turned that way on a lathe."

Okay, we concede that your Jessica is number 1!
