What's new

Little help please :

Evening all! :)

I hope to treat myself just before Christmas as ill have extra funds hopefully.

I was thinking about a simpsons brush that would work for face and bowl lathering.

Price range maybe £50 -60 $80-100

Doesn't have to be simpsons but would like a nice brush.

I had a 24mm silvertip from WD set with the extra depth, sold it on as I didnt like how the knot sorta sagged to one side when wet. Might have just been my noobyness at the time.

My current brush lineup Is

Semogue soc
Fs chubby (hogs all the lather :[ )
Semoge 620
Turkish no.6
Fs 24mm synthetic

I have a couple more but they are mainly in the rotation.

I would like a semi big handle as my 620 and chubby handles I find annoying to hold as they are more stubby.

Thanks very much for any help I may receive.

Pete

For Simpson that sounds like a Colonel. You might also look at Shavemac.

Normally I would also mention a Rooney 3/1 but those can be hard to come by in the UK.

Simpson 57 would meet your criteria, but there are lots of good choices out there. A custom brush from one of the vendor/hobbyist with a TGN Finest knot would be my first choice.

That colonel looks like a great brush!

Cheers for the help guys! Ill let some more people chime in, i have a decent amount of weeks left before i place an order :)

You didn't specify what hair is your Semogue SOC: boar or 2-band badger?
If you have the boar, I'd recommend to get the badger, too. This definitely is not floppy and will not sag to a side when wet, it has a really good backbone. You know the handle style and size as it is the same for both hair types.
