Lime-away

Bringing this over from a post in the B/S/T in which the OP said something about Lime-away and watermarks.

Do we have a consensus on this? Does it work? Can it damage finishes?

What is the currently accepted conventional wisdom on this?

Lime away is an acid. It is used to disolve limescale and rust stains. I personally haven't tried it on a rasor, but I sell it in high concentrations to food service establisments.

Infact I've soaked all my finds so far in a solution of tableware presoak with a sheet of aluminum foil in it, this acts as a detarnishing solution.

Stainless steel is resistant to acids so it makes a great cleaner for SS which is used for most commercial kitchens.

it will mostlikely etch or cause the removal of plating.
