Ligne St Barth Apres Rasage - aloe vera gel with mint

Just tried out some Ligne St Barth Apres Solaire/Apres Rasage for the first time.

I picked this up while in St Barth a few weeks ago on honeymoon. My wife had a massage using these products, and we happened by their boutique in Gustavia. They had a small selection of men's products, no shaving creams or soaps, but they did have this. I didn't use it there because I didn't want to break the seal before our air travel back to the states. One derecho, Charlotte airport, and a lost bag later, I thought I had lost my memento. However, my luggage showed up a day later and was only missing one wheel!

The shave: Razorock XXX face lathered, Tradere OC, and three passes. A bit of a rough shave, but I'll chalk that up to using a cart while on vacation.

Apres Rasage: It is described as aloe vera gel with mint. It has a gel texture and a light, soft green color. It comes in a 200 mL glass flask with gold screw top cap. (The smaller size was in a plastic flask.) The aroma is a clean mint. I love the scent! It had an immediate cooling and calming sensation upon application. I used about a teaspoon and that was plenty product. 10 minutes after application I can still get the faintest of mint smell, but it is not enough to interfere with any cologne. No oily residue that I can see. My skin feels very hydrated and soft.

The only downside would be cost. Like everything on St Barth, Ligne carries a high price tag and even higher shipping cost on their website. Still, the product line is top notch. Their female line is of equally exceptional quality with natural pleasant scents, so the lady of the house tells me. The apres rasage hits the spot for a hot day and paired very nicely with the minty scent of XXX. I am very pleased.

Ingredients: "Purified Caribbean sea water, peppermint extract, allantoin, cyclomethicone and dimethicone, camelia oleifera extract and phenoxyethanol, carbomer, tromethamine, aloe vera extract, spearmint oil, polysorbate 20, chlorophyllinum cupreum."

I am a huge fan and bought 4 bottles online several years ago. Still got 3 left. The company also sent some smaller bottles of massage oil and other samples. It is expensive but goes a long long way. It is also a great after sun moisturizer for the evenings when you're at the beach. Not sure how much they cost online now but saw them in the St Martin airport a few months ago for about $30 a bottle. PM if interested as I am happy to trade a sample or bottle. I will put one up on BST once I have enough posts.

Big fan as well. I know I've mentioned it on prior threads but never posted a pic or described it as well as Patman. If you get a chance to sample, you should. It's a great summer aftershave. In the winter, I find I need some supplementary mositurizing though. Following zeak's inspiration, I'll probably offer up a sample on BST in a few days.

Have to say there is not a place nicer than St Barthe. I have to go back. Have to love an airport with a stoplight and beach...

Thanks for the kind words. St Barth's landing was in itself a lifetime experience. Pitched forward in a prop plane slowly approaching the mountain pass while over the ocean. The pilot clears the pass, drops the hammer, swoops over a road, down a hill, and stops on a dime before hitting the beach at the end of the runway. He then turns around, laughs, and wipes his brow.

We loved the island, and Le Sereno was very kind to us as well.

On my review, I got the larger bottle for about 35 euros at the boutique. They sold the line at St Marteen airport and at drugstores on the island.
