Lifetime for Feathers?

Okay, I know this sounds stupid, but have anyone experienced Feather blades (and other blades as well) to be less sharp over the years, or maybe even rust?

The reason I'm wondering is because I've thought about buy like 40 packages of that stuff at the same time to get a reduced price of it, however this means that they will last a couple of years. Is this completely safe? Something to think about while storing them, like in a cold dark place?

Thanks!

Stainless blades will last DECADES if kept dry.

I have blades made in the 70's that I shave with, they are as sharp now as the day they were made. Your blades have not gone dull.

As for storage, you can keep them in ziploc bags or a sealable container (like tupperware), keeping the original packaging intact. You do not need desiccant, those of us with older blade collections have never used it and have suffered no ill result. A stainless blade, kept in the original packaging, should not show any rust.

Carbon steel blades do not have the same lifetime, unfortunately. These can/do rust over time.

Hope this helps.

Well this is good to know as I got bid happy on eBay and have 200 blades right now sitting in my bathroom and figure they are going to last quite some time.

I shave with a Gillette blade that has the date code from 1975 this week and it is still sharp and shaves exellent. So, no worries, but you shouldn't store the blades in your bathroom because the air is probably wet there after showering and the blades could start to corrode.
