Let's See That Yard

In light of the "lets see your mug" thread... There's always so much talk about mowing yards, my yard this, my lawn that... so... let's see em. Be they back or front yards, snap a picture and let's see what you're working with?

Unfortunately, my yard isn't much of a yard at all! I live on a golf course when I'm down south for the summer months. I've got about three feet of "my grass" before it becomes "course grass" and the lawn team is usually nice enough to clip those three feet for me :thumbup1: Here's my back patio as compensation for the lack of back yard:

This yard is under contract to be mine on June 30th. Closing on this and my wife is having a baby in the same week.

I'll have about 3/4 of an acre to mow and do landscape upkeep, the other 3-1/4 acres will be for goats to "mow" down.

Dustin, is this your first child? (I think you already posted the answer in an earlier thread, so forgive me.)

We have a 2 year old son. They will be 2 years apart in age almost to the day. Talk about planning! Anyway, they are the reason my wife and I are buying this place.

Looks awesome Dustin, congratulations!

cfriend, I appreciate the compliment. Your back patio is a cigar/pipe smokers dream! The view that you have is awesome! I can picture myself back there with a Habano Partagas and a JB & Coke.

Nice spread neighbor. Sometimes I think that I'd like to have more space around me but here's what I crammed into my suburban lot.

Steve,
Your 'space' is absolutely beautiful! What are the trees in the back (grey bark)? Is a koi pond a lot of upkeep?

Here's mine, it needs a lot of 'growing' yet.

Thank you Sue.

The trees are oaks and the koi pond is fairly easy to maintain, the exception being daily removal of the oak and Japanese maple leaves that collect in the pond and the stream in the fall. The koi are hardy, requiring minimal feeding as they can survive and thrive on the pond algae. I have a service clean the pond in the spring so I gladly avoid that tedious job.

Nice place for a hammock under your tree.

We've had a lot of rain this spring, so I need to get some more pics. The yard looks much better
