Leftover Prime Rib. Any ideas?

Gents,

i have a nice hunk of bone-in prime rib leftover from yesterday and I was thinking I could turn that into something else. Anyone?

What I do when I have left over meats is to thin slice it into "bite sized" lengths.

THEN...

In a pan I start with some olive oil and butter and saute some minced shallots (you can use minced onion and garlic too if you want).

When clear I add some sliced mushrooms, garlic, and some spices (fav blend is basil and tarragon, along with salt and pepper).

When they are starting to soften I add some flour and make a roux. When it is browned I add either cream or sour cream. Once it has made the sauce I then put in the cooked meat and serve over either egg noodles or over rice (which ever I also have left over).

simple and tasty

Yes! Thank you all! Probably going to start with a cheese steak... Then a long walk with the pup.

Slice the meat up real nice, get some fries, proper cheese curds, and gravy. Mix that all up. You might be saying "Justin.. that is just poutine with meat!" You didn't let me finish, you then take garlic bread and make a sandwich. I was pretty happy last time I did this, I except you might enjoy it too!

Hash! Potatoes, onions, peppers, anything else you feel like; In a skillet, topped with a runny egg... awesome

Sounds great! Sometimes the Holiday leftovers can be made into something good or better!

Send me your address, I will bring the horseradish

On edit: seriously, get some good roll and horseradish, and grill som onions and green peppers. Maybe some cheese (I like cheddar).

I must echo the sandwich recommendations... always a delicious lunch at work when you can whip out a tasty rye sandwich loaded with garlic'y prime rib and horseradish

Used to go to a dinner club in the northwoods of Western Wisconsin that featured a awesome utilization of leftover prime rib. The leftover meat would get cubed, battered and deep fried. It was served with blue cheese dressing. Yes, it is a heartattack on a plate but it is yummy.

BTW- had more than my share of prime rib sandwiches. Try a sliced prime rib under a broiler, served on a croissant with a bit of horseradish and a slice of swiss. Another sammy....crusty roll, sliced prime rib, fried egg and a little brie.
