Lavender!

I love my TOBS Lavender soap! Does anyone who's been able to compare different lavender soaps have a recommendation for my next one?

I'm thinking Trumper's.

D.R. Harris is very good.

I also like Saint Charles Shave Bulgarian Lavender, but I think that was a limited edition product. I assume their regular lavender soap is of similarly high quality.

My next lavender soap will likely be Art of Shaving.

I own and enjoy AoS and DR Harris Lavender shave soaps.
Both are nice, but fairly muted scents.

I like the Harris scent better. I can get slightlybetter lather from the AoS.

Never tied any others.

I've tried:

1.AOS
2.QED
3.Castle Forbes
Kiss My Face
E-shave

Aos is definitely my favorite, both in performance and scent. I've heard some people say the scent's not that strong, but i find it to be second only to QED.

Funny story, I bought some AoS Lavender cream & balm and sold it after one use. Hated it. I read a lot of rave reviews, re-tried it, and LOVE it. Scent, performance - all very good. There are products that are a better value, sure - but AoS is good stuff. They just charge too much for it.

Anyway, I doubt you'd hate the soap. Most people seem to like it a lot. Great Lavender scent. Also, I am an utter nut-job and I ordered some Martin de Candre Lavender & Mint. I'll letcha know.

You should try Aos lavender soap, light years better then the cream imo.

+83,424 on AoS Lavender. It's light on the scent, but lathers like the dickens. I never fail to get a great shave with it. +2 on Trumpers Violet, too.

Art of Shaving,Trueffit and Hill and Cyril R Salter make wonderful lavander soaps.
The Art of Shaving soap is simply a luxury, one of the best soaps I ever tried.Valobra knows how to make great shaving soaps.
The T&H and the Cyril R Salter has the same scent but diferent formulation.I like both but the Cyril Salter makes a better lather,or at least,I make a better lather from that soap.
I was so dissapointed with the Harris one:I was expecting a great lavander scent, but is really weak and fades away so quickly...anyway,its a good performer but not as good as the AoS.

Lavender for me has got to be Monsavon. The scent is very light with a hint of rosemary or sage - can't tell exactly. Dirt cheap, is tallow based and IMHO is by far the best lavender out there.

I guess I know what my next ten soap purchases will be!

Maybe a better question would be which lavender soaps to stay away from... at the moment it looks like I'll just end up buying every option I can find!

I can't in good conscious recommend the soap I bought. Far too expensive for any sane human being not living in France (due to postage).

You're talking about the Martin de Candre? Since you haven't said anything bad about the soap itself, I'm afraid it might have to remain on my list!

Im a lavender man myself. I also wish Trumper made a lavender but the violet is fine also. My favorite is Castle Forbes lavender shaveing bream and the aftershave. Next would be TOBS, DR Harris and AOS. I also forgot Truefitt & Hill's lavender. Its a very good shaving bream but doesnt have your traditional lavender scent but is still one of the best.
