They responded to a sample inquiry and asked which ones I would like to try.
Any favorites, suggestions, must tries.
Any opinions are welcome.
Thanks,
Robert
Dzing! is in the category of things you have to sniff even if it doesn't suit you to wear. Premier Figuier is also an interesting fragrance, less sweet that Diptyque's Philosykos.
L'Artisan is great. I'm a big fan of Passage d'Enfer, Timbuktu and Fou d'Absinthe, but my favorite is Dzongkha. I also just tried one of their new releases Coeur de Vetiver Sacre--not sure about it yet. It's very interesting definitely not a traditional vetiver.
I'm not a big fan of the house, but I'll echo those who say to try Timbuktu. It's oft cited as a great scent at Basenotes. Perfume Critic Turin raves about it as well.
Havana Vanille could be a good wet shaver scent I suspect.
Voleur de Roses is a kind of masculine leaning dirty rose/patchouli scent.
Al Oud I kind of like and am teetering on the fence about a full bottle. Heavy on the cumin; light on the oud though. Though I think a lot of men would eschew it, I think it's probably thought to be a pretty seductive scent by women.
As MHV implied, Dzing is flat out fraking weird, weird stuff. Not nasty smelling, just odd. Supposed to the "scent of the circus." You figure out what that means.
Mechant Loup (Big Bad Wolf) is one of their few "masculine" labeled scents. A small sample of this showed me potential. It's honey, hazelnut, sandalwood and myrrh with a bit of musk. With your "handle," looks like a must try, wolf.
I find their scents a bit on the refined and lighter side for me- but that's MY tastes. YMMV. If you find one you like, you will stand out. While they are pretty prolific niche perfumer, the average person has probably never heard of them. And if you find one you like and a woman gets close, she will make note of it. These are well crafted scents for sure.
If you can get some samples, go for it. A very well regarded perfumer by any standard.
