Lamy Safari nib work

Can anyone recommend a source for inexpensive work on Lamy safari nibs? Given the price point of these nibs my guess is that this is not really practical but it does not hurt to ask.

I own a B that is nice and smooth, but consistently starts reluctantly. I would like to add a F that writes pretty wet.

thanks!

My reccomendation is to buy an F nib, but, before you assemble it, run a knife blade VERY LIGHTLY through the "channels" on the feed, which will increase the wetness. Be very, very careful. A little bit goes a very long way.

What brand of ink have you been using? My experience is that Lamy pens have adequate flow but some inks don't.

Have you tried multiple types of ink? Have you thoroughly washed the feed with soap and a toothbrush? If not, I would try that before hacking the feed.

Thanks for the input.

I have tried several types of ink in the B and it is consistently hesitant to start up, which bugs me. However I have acquired a few new inks and can try those. It does not skip and is adequately wet, just does not want to start sometimes. I am pretty sure that I did a nib scrub at some point but will not hurt to repeat.

The nibs are cheap enough that I can just buy a F and see how it does. If I bugger it I guess I have not lost that much. I usually prefer B but I have an old Schaeffer imperial in F that writes wet and it is one of my favorite pens to write with but I would like something nicer than the cheesy plastic and gold housing.

What are some notoriously wet blue (but not purple toned blue) and black inks?
