Lady Gillette early model date code, different than wiki

Today I got a lady Gillette with a date code H4 which dates it back to 1962. The forum gillette date code wiki indicates that the razor was not out until 1963.

Is this common that some razors were made at the end of the year for release the next year like cars for example?

It's entirely possible. Gillette often took old unused parts lying around a factory and put them in new razors, it's not impossible that they had a bunch of older baseplates or heads and tossed them into the production line the next year.

This happened a lot, and we're not likely to notice it much.
One notable example is a super adjustable with two separate date codes during their transition to plastic adjustment plates. One in the old place and one in the new, on separate parts.
