Kudos to QED Soap

It takes allot to make me write a compliment (or likewise, a complaint) about a product and in this case, the compliment is easy to do.

This morning I shaved using QEDs "Pine & Cedarwood" soap (round) and man, what an experience. I had the best shave ever (sorry if I don't use enough acronym's for your taste, but I hate it when I have to go to the WIKI to understand what people are saying) and I attribute this excellent days shave directly to QEDs soap! This stuff is a "lather monster" and outshined all my other soaps in that regard, of which I own 5-6 other brands. Not only that but it tends to leave a residual "lubricity" behind even after rinsing and inspecting my face by rubbing (to check for stubble) and I could easily feel how slick my face remained, so much so that I even touched up a few spots effortlessly without needing to relather. Of course I do relather for the second pass etc but this soap is obviously of excellent quality to have such properties. On top of all that, this soap was also highly fragrant and I really like that aspect of QED soaps too. It was a fantastic shave today and I am confident this soap had allot to do with that. It was just down right great, without exaggeration.

DanOK if you read this post, I too am now sold on QEDs "Pine & Cedar" fragrance soap and it has earned a permanent spot in my rotation from now forward, next to Mama Bear's "Ye Olde Barbershoppe" which I also love. I hope the other fragrances I purchased from Charles at QED are just as nice, which I am confident they will be.

Definitely a "step above," if you havent you should try QED Soaps!

Agree on all counts (except Pine & Cedarwood wasn't my favorite scent). For me, there is nothing out there slicker than QED. If you read Joel's old review here, he says much the same thing about the lubricity.

Had a revalation tonight when I shaved. Really eye-opening to me, seriously.

As I pointed out above, I found the QED soaps to be highly lubricating, leaving behind a residual slickness that allowed my hand to glide over my skin looking for rough spots and even allowing touch up with my razor without relathering.

Well tonight I just shaved with my next favorite plastic tub soap brand and realized that once I pulled the lather away from my face with my razor, my face was almost completely dry and my hand seemed to just stick wherever I placed it. No residual lubricity whatsoever! My heart almost sank because it was also my favorite scent from that other vendor too. But to me, the quality of the soap and thus, the quality of the shave is much more important than the scent which is fleeting anyway. Besides QEDs scents are some of the strongest and can't be beat I don't think.

This ices it for me. I'll be selling my other soaps on ebay tomorrow, some of them brand new unused and a few used ones but over 3/4 full. If I were here long enough to be able to post on the "Buy and sell" boards, I would have but I don't have enough time in so ebay it is. With the proceeds, I'll get myself a few more QED soaps and hopefully there is some of his Fresh Lime left.
