Koken "Phoenix" age?

I was wondering if any one could help me with production date for the Koken Barber Supply Co.'s "Phoenix"?


I have found it mentioned in Nepolian Le'Blanc's "Essay on Barber's Razors..." Which has an 1893 copyright date.


Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'd say you just dated it yourself, more or less.

Don't know yet. Still learning about everything and playing with the DE. Picked up four straights from eBay to restore and work my way up to.. So we'll see.

Based on the grind and tail, your original date is appropriate. I think it's impossible to really narrow done the manufacturing date range of models, especially those coming out of solingen as compared to English manufactured ( changes in stamp regs 0r warrants)
