Knize Ten Soap

does anyone know anything about this shaving soap? anyone have experience with it? i have been scouring the internet for information without much luck.

thanks

I have some (purchased from a member here) - it's in a very plain unfinished wooden bowl....

Works well - has the unmistakeable scent of K10....

I like it!

Colonial quoted me a price of $35 for the soap in a wooden bowl - they didn't list the puck alone. Add 5% for MA tax; $7.00 delivery by UPS to stateside addresses.

The people at Colonial are very nice & helpful - when I ordered my K10 edt the fellow checked its availability while I waited (I think I got the last bottle - no top on it... but the bottle was 125ml, not the 100ml listed!). I received it in four days (including the holiday weekend!).

I could be wrong, but I though colonial drugs used to offer free shipping if you mentioned you are a B&B member?

wow - I wish I had thought to ask... Cambridge Chemists in NYC comps shipping for members, I think, but I didn't know about Colonial....

There was a guy on SMF who sold three pucks for $40 - too bad I saw this too late...:frown:

Wow Mike, you are really sticking to the minimalist shave den aren't you? Good for you, I wish I had the same willpower.

Considering the AD's that I have been through, YES.... ( I still would like to try this soap next year) I may have to call Colonial after the first of the year and pick some up. Until then I have a small smidgen of TABAC left...about 1/2 a puck of MWF, 1 inch of a Speick Shave Stick left, 3/4 of a tube of Speick cream, and 90% plus of a recent BST purchase... a tub of Geo. F. Trumper Coconut Oil Shaving Cream to remind me of the very FIRST Luxury shaving cream I ever purchased close to 3 years ago. (So I'm minimalist considering my past...certainly not as simplified as say a Shaker.

Can anyone with the soap and bowl comment on the longevity of the bowl? I've heard some people have splitting problems with the (unfinished) wood.

It is a good, triple-milled soap. IIRC, it is not a tallow-containing soap, if that matters. (I don't think it used to be tallow either, so no reformulation stumbles to worry about.)

The scent is ... K-10. You like it or you don't.

Great performance. It's been sitting unused in my rotation for a long time, but IIRC it performs well although it might leave the skin a bit drier than average after the shave. (Nothing a decent balm can't fix.)

(I generally use one soap or cream for a whole calendar month, and then move on to another, so there's nothing sinister to read into my not having used this soap for a while.)
