Knee pads

Knee pads are not the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this forum; but, they are an accessory for some.

I am looking for some knee pads for work. I will be crawling and resting on my knees, and I am in tight quarters. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking to stay around $50.

What do you need them for? What kind of work? I'm a roofer so I'm on my knees most of the day and have tried out a few different kinds.

Crawling around on concrete and concrete/gravel in close quarters.

You could also try going to a roofing supply store and see what they have. I use ones like in the second link but they are black and a little harder rubber.

When I was in the military, on exercises when you're doing patrols and so forth you're constantly taking a knee when stops occur. I bought a pair of fancy tactical knee pads and I hated them. They were uncomfortable, they had the hard cap and your knee just felt unstable inside of it when kneeling. So I bought the cheap kind for gardening or general work, basically just a foam pad with a velcro strap on it, and it works a million times better.

There's nothing to be gained from spending more, the most basic ones do the job.
