Kettlebells?

I have one of the adjustable ones that takes 1" plates. It goes up to #90 I think. Not the same as the real deal but close. I mostly use it for swings. They kind of beat you up doing snatches and cleans until you get your technique down and I never did I guess. I'm thinking about getting a couple solid ones though. I think a couple of the 54s would be great. Good for adding variety but for me not a replacement for standard free weights.

Does anyone work out with them? How do ya like it?

Does anyone know where I might find good quality ones in Houston?
I used to use them. They are awesome. I may yet pick up another set.

I know you can get some decent ones from GarageGym.com or Gill Athletics, as well as Rogue fitness. All are decent vendors. You can also get them from PAvel (DragonDoor) of course.

I use them every day and I love them. But, sometimes I think that some people try to use them when something else might be better/safer/more effective. It's kind of like computers. Sometimes people use them for things that are better done manually just because they own one.

I love them. I don't use kettlebells exclusively, but when I want to work out at home, they're great. It's worth it to shop around--you can get them now at Play It Again Sports if you have them there. I actually bought mine from Dragon Door on eBay. You can often get very reasonable prices--when you factor in the (enormous) postage, a Dragon Door bell costs about what a Brand X one would at a local store.

You can get some outstanding workouts from Pavel and his students (from his books/DVDs or on line) or you can find good kettlebell exercises integrated into other routines on Crossfit's site. I've also found that kettlebell work has had an amazing effect on my ability to do other things. Kettlebell snatches have helped me increase my Olympic snatches like nobody's business.

I used them quite a bit when training for my MMA fights. They are awesome and give a very unique workout, especially if you aren't used to training with them.

I use them all the time. I got mine at Play It Again Sports. They are well worth the money. For exercise ideas, check out You Tube. There are plenty of videos to get you started.
