Kamado restore

I finally got around to restoring a 1978 clay Kamado pot that my dad got in Japan years ago. This will go real nice with my green egg

Neat.. that hole in the bottom looks vicious. How'd ya do it?
Have you tried it out?

I used a high heat epoxy putty for the hole and JB weld to put the fire box back together. I used a Big Green Egg gasket to seal around the lid.
It has been fired off twice without cooking anything on it yet. I had it at 400 degrees for 8 hours. I plan to use it for low and slow cooking, nothing over 400 degrees
