What's new

Just Scratching the Surface from my recent trip to New York City.

Those are quite nice. I especially like that you shot them on film, with an old Rollei no less! What did you scan with and how do the prints look? Looking at them on screen, I never would have guessed that the first set was Tri-X. Thanks for posting.

I haven't printed them yet, so for now you are seeing negative scans done an Epson V500 with Vuescan software and lightly touched up in Aperture. I took photos with my Rolleicord, Olympus OM-1 kit and my iPhone. Of them all I loved my Rolleicord the most, I shot a dozen 120mm rolls over the course of the week I was in NYC and five rolls of Delta 100 through the Olympus. If I were to do it again and I plan too, I would switch out the OM-1 for an OM-2n, the Rolleicord is definitely making the trip back.

Very nice! I knew from the moment I saw the square pictures this was 120 analog film!

I really like the Wall Street and the Terrace pictures.

Are you testing different developers, or do you normally develop different films in different developers? I only ask because I haven't really messed around with anything other than HC-100.

I have three usual go to developers: Xtol, HC110 and D-76/ID-11 for most of my films with Rodinal for Fomapan 100. I shot Ilford Delta 400 through my OM-1md so I decided to give Ilfotec DDX a shot, so far so good. I'm switching to Ilford Delta 100 in 35mm once my last rolls of Plus X are gone so I might buy the jumbo jug of Tmax developer which is a cheaper buy.

The sage advice is to shoot one film and process with one developer and become at one with it. I decided to get acquainted with a variety of films and developers just in case there is a supply issue.

I also tend to use ID-11/D-76 in the Summer and go Xtol 1+1 in the fall winter and early spring so I can shoot box speed and get decent results.
