What's new

Just picked up some old spice

On the way home from work today I went to CVS and got some old spice. I just got done shaving and tried it out. I loved it! I burned for a few seconds but my face actually feels great, refreshed and I like the scent! This completes the whole shaving experience. I cannot wait to venture off and try more in the future! Sorry for the rant...

I had used nothing but old spice since I first started shaving when I was 13.
I have always loved how it feels, but never really cared for the scent.
Today was the first time I have used anything else. I used Pinaud Virgin Island Bay rum. I wouldn't have even heard of it if it wasn't for this forum. The burn is fierce compared to Old Spice, but I enjoy the scent.
Someone needs to get an Old Spice feeling mixed with the Bay Rum scent, lol.

Old Spice is my number one, but I like the Clubman I bought recently, too.
He's outnumbered, but he's holding his own.

I picked up a bottle for the first time this week as well. This was my first time even smelling it. My mom hated it, so my dad never wore it. It's not a bad smell although I dig the Pinaud products more.

I don't hit the Old Spice very often, even though I own a fair amount of the vintage and new stuff. While I enjoy the scent, it's very memory laden, and I sometimes feel when I use it, even after passing the half century mark, like a little kid wearing the old man's suit when nobody is looking.

What's funny is my teenage son, free of such scent associations, has decided that Old Spice is where it's at.

I've just finished shaving and am currently bathed in the scent of Old Spice, it's verging on guilty pleasure. I think it's a great product and my skin gets on very well with it. If I'm shaving at night which I often do I'll reach for the Old Spice or Brut, if I'm likely to be appearing in public shortly after shaving I'll reach for something else.
