For a while now I've been wanted to start wearing cologne. I'm a young guy, 22, but I think I'm an old soul. One thing that I demand of my cologne, and anything else I buy/wear, is quality. And, as far as fragrances are concerned, I refuse to wear that soapy smelling swill I smell all over my university campus. I wanted something that would set me apart, but also compliment my overall style. After trying a few here and there on my wrists, I came to be fond of C&E Sandalwood and figured I'd really like a Sandalwood scent. I ordered the SCS sandalwood (along with some other samples to try and some aftershave splash). I'm very happy with my decision.
It does not at all smell like C&E which I think is a much drier, woodier smell. This is warmer and sweeter, although I don't think sweet really describes whatever I'm picking up. It's not candy sweet, much mellower and inviting. I was sure I would not like a sweet scent, but I do like this. The New Spice sample is the same and like it as well.
I just wanted to tell you guys that I'm excited and owe it to the guys on this board for their reviews and taste in the cologne department. I look forward to expanding my fragrance collection. Oh year, if you're wondering, I am a straight shaver as well and have been for the last 2 years.
