Picked this up via a recent auction for it's "mentholated" properties. Unfortunately that scent has all but disappeared leaving only a soapy scent. Also what's neat is the offer of Aqua Velva aftershave in various scents such as - Ice Blue, Menthol mist, Frost lime and one I never heard of Redwood. This won't be used but instead be for display. Thanks for the read!

Too cool.
If tallow agreed with my face I would shave with it and just display the box. Good soap according to those that know more than me.
I have never yet heard of a puck of Menthol Williams that actually had any menthol content left in it. It seems the menthol leaches out with age.
You must use. Why let it waste on a shelf?

The Redwood was a very nice woodsy scent. Too bad it's gone. 
I use my Williams promotional mug every day to soak my brushes in.

Why am I NOT surprised that you have one?
On another note, it's neat to hear I'm not the only one that uses a separate clean mug to soak my brush in. I also use that for any water I need to add to the lather, so its still clean water, or only slightly soapy from previous brush dunks, and not full of used lather and hair bits.
You have more restraint than I. When I get a new soap I have to lather it whether I shave or not.

That's a bummer. I just saw a four set on the bay go for a few pennies. Just didn't have this soap to prod me to get it. But to have that trifecta of AV, Soap and mug would be cool. I'm a little late to the game but I've started a very modest collection. Thanks for the pic.

HA! I'll drill down to see about the menthol tomorrow. Start of my two week vacation tomorrow so I'm giving my face a rest tonight. But tomorrow it's on & I'll definately let you know.

Here's something interesting. We know of the Bicentennial mug. Found one. Check. But I didn't know(which mean nothing as I'm new to Williams) there is a AV offer for the same year 1976.
