Jake Hackert pipes?

For my first step up from corncobs, I've been looking at Jake Hackert pipes. I don't know what it is exactly about them I like, but they sure do look great to me. Maybe a bit non-traditional. Maybe a bit gaudy to some. But I likey... a lot! The short length definitely appeals to me, as I don't really care for the aesthetics of longer pipes. I also like the disproportionately large bowl. And the stems... I like the stems, too. The guy who runs the YouTube channel called dagnerperformance has a a good collection of Hackerts and there's something very appealing to me about his personal style of smoking those stubby Hackerts. Makes the tobacco look so damn tastey, he does with those pipes! Well I guess I do know exactly what I like about them.

Anyway, I was hoping someone here at B&B has some firsthand experience with Hackert pipes and could share their opinions on them. Even if you don't own a Hackert, I'd still like to hear your opinion of them. Thanks.

Hey...

I have had two Hackerts for almost two years and I can confidently say they're GREAT!! Out of the 40+ pipes I own, they are definitely in my top 5. Smoke great and look great!! Great value, too.

Sorry, guys. But I figured I must've been the only one here who didn't know anything about Hackerts. Maybe we could do a group purchase. Though from what I understand, there's quite a waiting list for them and Jake might not even be taking any orders for the time being*, so your money should be safe for now.

*Don't take my word for it as I'd hate to see him lose business because of something I said. Mr. Hackert's contact info is in the YouTube video I linked to in my first post of this thread.

Ignorance is bliss- and now i am not blissful :001_smile. Seriously, nice looking pipes

Nice pics, guys. I forgot to ask in my original post, are there other makers out there who do similar work as Jake Hackert? I saw a Morretti that looked close in style, but upon further investigation found out it was a custom job done from a customers sketch and specific dimensions, so somewhat out of character for him. I've also seen a couple Boswell pipes that looked similar. But I think a Hackert will be worth waiting for.

Bit of an update. I emailed Jake a couple weeks ago inquiring about taking orders, waiting times, prices, etc. Didn't hear back from him so I assumed he's either too busy or out of business. Luckily he's just been swamped. He emailed me today and it turns out he's still taking orders but can't give a time estimate as he's got too many pipes to knock off to make an accurate guess. Price is $125 for the basic rusticated poker I want and shipping to Canada is about $4 (WOW! It's absolutely criminal that some places can charge more than $20 for Canadian shipping and Jake can get it done for less than five bucks!). I love his system, too. No money down, and when it's done, he will email me pics of pipe with dimensions for me to decide if I want it. If not, he simply puts it up on eBay and it's gone in under an hour. One email from this guy and I'm completely confident in the entire affair and looking forward to giving him my money.

Question: Wondering if anyone here has got a pipe from him lately through the process I just described? I'd like to know how long it took for your pipe to be finished and delivered from order date. I mean, I could be looking at two weeks or ten months, I really have no idea. Hmmm, someone here recently posted about anticipation of incoming goodies... I here ya!
