What's new

J.B. Williams antique trade cards, etc.

Some shaving related paper ephemera:

1. Vroom & Fowlers Military Shaving Soap trade cards - Both J.B. Williams and Vroom & Fowler opened for business in 1840. Williams didn't begin selling shaving soap until 1845, so Vroom & Fowler may actually have been the first manufacturer of shaving soap in North America. The V&R trade cards from two years prior advertised that the shaving soap was also a very good for cleaning teeth. Yuck!

2. Two J.B. Williams trade cards advertising the company's Barber's Favorite Shaving Soap, a Williams Genuine Yankee Shaving Soap crate label and a Johnson's Shaving Cream ink blotter.

3. A Pears mechanical trade card, J.B. Williams shaving booklet, Whittemore's Orient Shaving Soap trade card and a Worsley's Genuine Yankee Shaving Soap trade card.

4. J.B Williams correspondence, William's price list, front and back and the back side of the Williams shampoo card.
