What's new

It's finally happened.

The enevitable accident!!

I slipped my ED Preppy into my shirt pocket on the way to do some community work at the juvinile detention center on Saturday.

Somehow the barrel was lose and a large drop ended up on the shirt. To make matters worse, this was a brand new shirt my wife bought me 1 week prior... almost to the hour.

Noodlers X-Feather. Apparently it does, indeed feather on 60% Cotton 40% Polyesther blend. :sneaky2:

Tips?

and pictures... You could go buy a new shirt to hide it from the wife, or use this as an excuse to get a new pen because this one is obviously broken and should be put in time out to think about what it has done.

Terrible suggestions!

The preppy is a great writer, and I love not having to worry if it's filled enough to take notes in class. The shirt where the store was bought is about an hour and a half from our home. And if I had money to buy a new shirt, I'd rather blow it on a new FP. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds for either atm.

Here ya go Jessy;

1) Take a picture of it and post in James' thread " Ink splatter: Accidental art project" File it under "shirt art"
2) If you can't get the stain out, go buy your favorite color of RIT and dye that bad boy another color.

Ohhh man that's a rough one.
Here's my best suggestions:
1. Tie dye.
2. Sew a monogrammed patch over the spot. (my won't that look spiffy!)
3. Just ignore it and pretend it's not acutally there. Look confused when people mention it and say "I don't see a spot"

If all else fails, I've heard hairspray works, but I don't know for sure. <-- this is the serious one.

Most things I've read say that hairspray can help to loosen a dried ink stain, then you can attack it with other things. I need to get some ammonia. If it was just a half inch or so higher, a monogram patch wouldn't actually be a bad idea!

I'm seriously disappointed in the lack of pictures...

But try resolve or oxy clean stuff pretreatment and if all else fails

Shirt art... this is why we can't have nice carpeting in the nib btw.... because of uh people lik.... k I'm going to stop there

Could you tell I'm not a Preppy eyedropper fan??

Ah, for a second I thought you were just jealous.

I'm seriously disappointed in the lack of pictures...
Sorry, I was too busy trying to keep the stain wet so as not to allow the ink to dry.... didn't work. Soaked it in a hot water/dish soap/vinegar solution for a few hours... nothing doing.

I will be placing a link on this thread to a picture to be posted about this time tomorrow.

Fridays are Fishtastic!
I would make a cooment on my lack of staining anything, except my fingers, but why tempt fate?

Good thinking!

I feel your pain, Jessy. I had been good with not staining my clothes until Friday. I fumbled my Pilot 78G and it landed on my khakis. I now have a Pelikan Brilliant Green crotch.... Trust me, it's not as appealing as it sounds!

Vinegar probably wasn't a good idea...it can be used as a dye fixative for cloth. You may have made your temporary stain a permanent one!

strop

Now half as wise
Only thing I can think of is a sweater vest. Between the vinegar and hot water, it's pretty much permanant.

I've had decent luck with the Amodex on non-permanent ink.

Why would people say Hot water and vinegar? Those jerks!

On the other hand, since the shirt has dried, I notice the stain is MUCH lighter. Still pretty noticeable though. Gonna try the Amodex when I can stop by Office Depot.
