Issue with my Thater 3-Band

Hey guys, i recently received a Cocobolo Thater brush (2-3 weeks ago). I love the feel of the brush when face lathering and i want it to last, I'm been taking care of it being careful not to shake it around to much or push in on my face too hard and i make sure its decently dry before setting down. Now every shave so far its shed 2-3 hairs and this shave around 5. I know this cant be good, am i doing something wrong or is there anything i can do to stop this?

Thanks in advance everyone

Some brushes shed for a little while after you start using them, some don't shed at all. Some don't shed at first, then start to shed.

I have had shedder brushes in other brands. I also currently have a Thater that sheds a couple of hairs each shave, and has done so since I bought it a few months ago (probably used it 40 times or so).

I had a shedder from a different brush maker and I was told by them to use it for a few months to see if the shedding subsided. It didn't and they replaced it.

So, all this to say, it may stop after some continued use. Or, you may want to contact the vendor from which you purchased the brush and see what they say.

I had a brush that was a shedder and this is what Rudy Vey told me to do. If you do this and it still sheds, contact the vendor you bought it from.

Shampoo the brush with a hair shampoo and rinse out very well
Let the brush dry for several day, making sure it is completely dry
Comb it out with a wide comb to remove all the loose hairs.
This procedure normally takes care of this problem. In the
huge, overstuffed knots there are quite a number of hairs
that are not well glued in or are still loose.
If the brush does not stop shedding after this procedure, contact the vendor.

James, I would definitely let the vendor know. I doubt very much it is due to anything you did; it just seems that every so often you get a knot that sheds. Simpson seems to get a lot of comments in this regard, but I've owned their brushes for years and never had a shedder. I've had good luck with Thäter as well but others have had the same problem as you.
