Is there a similar cologne to Lentheric "For Men of Action"?

I love the smell of this cologne, but there is a limited supply. Do any of you vintage scent experts know of a modern, similar, available scent?

thank you,
jim

BTW, I am not even sure it's a cologne, even though the bottle is labelled as such. It has a splash pour top and it doesn't last very long at all, but it may be due to it's vintage?

Geez, I know a lot of scents and I've never seen that one...

A search of Basenotes directory shows no "Eau de Cologne" under Lentharic. That "Men of Action" line is evidently a marketing line from how they advertised themselves. I saw an ad from 1935 for their shampoo using the phrase "For Men of Action."

Seems like it might have been discontinued awhile back. Age may be a factor in its fading, but also "cologne" strength fragrances are generally notoriously short lived.

What does it smell like? Citrus? Spicey?

I have a bottle of the same stuff - packaged with aftershave and talc - as "Three Musketeers."...

OK - I assume it's the same stuff - labeled simply: Men's Eau de Cologne.

I'd love to find a modern analogue myself.

The bit of research I did where I found anything, I think yours is from 1941. But I did see an advert with your set in it.

Here's a link to a Life Magazine Lentheric ad - 1950 - includes the Three Musketeers set. It seems there are a number of "generic" Lentheric men's products - is "tanbark" cologne actually called "Tanbark" or is it simply Men's Cologne?

I wish I could describe it, but I'm sort of a caveman. ummm, smell good. If your adept at scents, I could send you a 1 ml sample, but you got to promise to be completely objective and not go "ewwwwww! bug spray!".

I'm a bit of fume head for sure, but I'm not a "notes" guy. I can't break things down like "ahhh, now there's a bit of anise and a wee bit of bergamot making it's presence know...followed by...."

I just know what I like when I smell it.
