Is There A List of B&B Community "Clubs"

Hello Gents! Can anyone point me to a list of established community clubs like BOTOC, TOFLAC-U, etc? I'm wanting to get the tags right and add my "clubs" to my signature. Thanks.

Yea, the unofficial club or affinity groups is what I am looking for. Is there some sort of list of those? Or if not, could OPs that started various clubs point me to theirs?

All of the "unofficial" clubs are started with a thread. Most of them have no requirements to join. One that I know of, BOTOC, requires you to pm the originator of the thread, then put the group name in the signature.

You can just go to the thread of the group you want to represent in your signature, and ask if there is something you need to do to join.

Turtle and Jim: Thanks for the help. I will see if I am savvy enough to start a list on Shavewiki.

We LOSERs accept allcomers, no admission fee, just the gumption to post "I'm a LOSER!" in public.

The Cult of Arko requires only a small offering to the man on the wrapper.

Good Evening Brothers and Sisters!!

Just wanted to wish everyone here a Happy One Year Anniversary to the Brotherhood of the Open Comb!!

Who would have guessed when this thread started a year ago that it would be one thread started out with the intent of not only learning more and sharing about our love of open combs, but also as Brotherhood...a place for our members to hang out, and have some fun along the way.In the past year I think we have more than accomplished that goal!

The last several months I have had very little involvement with this thread ...so all the credit goes to its members, and much credit goes to my co-chair, Alex who gives so much of his time not only to this thread ..but to B&B in general....truly a great brother to all those involved in BOTOC.

Before I get side tracked let me state a new "rule" for membership:

Previously I was having ever send me a PM....due to many pressing issues I can not reply in the way I use to in the past...so out of necessity the following is now implemented.

If one wants to join the Brotherhood, post pics of your open comb s)...tell everyone why you love them...friend myself, Alex,April and any of the other brothers and simple post in the thread.Make sure you add BOTOC in your signature....its that simple.

Previously I was writing to everyone and welcoming them to BOTOC, but I think all the brethren here already do a good job of welcoming new members. if you have sent me a PM requesting membership...consider yourself"in"...just add BOTOC to your name and friend me.

So how long can this thread keep going? I don't know..I do know that everyday more and more men are joining the ranks of wet shaving, and more and more try the Open comb and fall in love with them just as we all have.

In the last year since the thread has started I have learned a thing or two about what I like....and one thing remains constant...my love for open combs!! DO I ever use a CC razor? Sure...every now and then I may use my slim, or a Superspeed or a Aristocrat...but what gets used by far the most are my open combs. What I have found is the BLADES make all the difference between a truly great shave and just a OK one....with Gillette Blacks, Super Iridums, and Feathers being now in my top ranks.

I have been more than blessed to have a awesome room mate that also is a total razor addict!! Last week, a certain "pocket razor queen"won a Double ring!!! I don't know who more excited, her or me!!Within hours of its arrival I loaded the Double ring with a feather and was shocked on how well a 108 year old razor shaved! It is worth the hype..not only of it collectibility, but also it just shaves wonderfully.

One of the lessons I've learned is that price, or modern or vintage doesn't matter when it comes to a great Open Comb shave....I love my vintage razors, but have equal love for Muhle R41 ( all varieties of it) The Fatip and its more expensive cousin the Joris, and the very affordable Cadet.

The Open comb has made me a better shaver. It has improved my technique, has taught me better angle and "proper speed" ( something I see very little of in discussion....I can use a very mild razor like a Superspeed or a Slim on 3-4 and havea GREAT and very close shave....something I couldn't do before my love affair with the OC. I still believe that as BOTOC members we really need to "evangelize" newbies into Open combs....with all the choices available.there is one for every need and type of face and beard....but the lessons learned using one will improve all of your shaves.

I wish for all my brothers and sisters to continue in the great shaves and for them to always feel welcome in the Brotherhood as a place to hang out and have fun...lets keep the Brotherhood going and celebrate what makes the Open comb the best razor design of all time!!

LONG LIVE THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE OPEN COMB!!!

I've seen:

BOTOC (Brotherhood of the Open Comb)
TOFLAC-U (The Official Face Latherers Club United)
B.O.S.S. (Brotherhood of Slant Shavers)
LOSER (Lover Of Single Edge Razors)
BOTSS (Brotherhood Of Tallow Shave Soaps)

Not sure if anyone is ever going to put it in their sig aside from me, but I've been trying to get momentum up for a small brush fan club "21 and under" (in reference to knot diameter, not age).
