Is the contract tech zamak?

I know the handles are pot metal but what about the top and base plate? Just curious about why this contract tech shaves differently from any other tech that I own.

I've got one that I'm fairly sure is all Zamak. Looks just like yours.
I can't say all of the base plates are though. It's likely all the caps are.

Well I wished it would have been brass, but it still shaves very well.

Gillette did a good job when they used zinc.
It's a part of wartime history, enjoy it for what it is.
