Is "Indian Old Spice" the Shulton formula?

Another member posted that he buys Indian Old Spice shave cream direct from India on desistores.net and when I checked the site out I noticed they sell other Old Spice items, including the Lime aftershave, Original Scent, as well as OS Talc, which all looked interesting to me, at pretty good prices too.

I was wondering what the deal was with the Indian Old spice items?

Any insight?

This is what my bottle of Old Spice AS, which I bought from India looks like:

I am not sure how this one compares to the pre-P&G Old Spice sold in the US as I have never used the latter.

I'm very interested in this topic as well, let's see if we can get a definitive answer. I loved the smell of my grandfather's Old Spice growing up, it smelled like a real, hard working MAN.

I believe the popular opinion is that the India Old Spice is the original formula.

I would not be at all surprised if Shulton had licensed an Indian manufacturer to produce OS to the original 'recipe'. India seems to have a history of buying the tooling or specifications for 'obsolete' Western products.

The Indian Shulton is not the US (vintage) Shulton formula. It's closer to the original Old Spice than what P&G puts out now, but nowhere in the same league.

Don't really have much experience using the original products but I have a tube of Indian made Old Spice Musk shaving cream. Nice smelling but not as lush or moisturizing as say Godrej Deluxe.

Am I reading that site correctly? It looks like it is $2 a tube! I bought a tube here for (I think) $10. I might just have to stock up, if this is the case. Maybe a group buy to reduce the unit cost of shipping?

Yep, 1 USD = 48.8400 INR today, so about $2.25 per tube for the cream.

Shipping is a big factor from here. I had what they said was 1300 grams of stuff in my cart worth $24.50, and the shipping cost was almost $27 for the "express" method. The cheaper method isn't a whole lot cheaper at $23, and it says it could take 21-28 days.
