Is anyone riding the Google Wave?

Have any B&B members been invited by Google to beta test Google Wave? How is it/what do you think? I've requested an invitation, but I'm certain I'm at the very end of a long line of people waiting. I'd be most grateful if one of you would be willing to invite a fellow B&B'er...

Thanks!

I've been participating for a couple of weeks.

While I can see some uses for it (collaboration - especially if people are scattered among different time zones, chatting among friends, sharing files among a group), I have to say I'm underwhelmed by the Wave. :001_smile

Perhaps if I used chat programs more, it might have more appeal. I tend to be email-centric and don't really see it as an improvement to that.

You can share documents and see real-time editing (including others editing your own messages - which is a big problem IMHO). That all sounds good. But, in my experience, people have enough problems tracking edited documents or redlined documents. Let alone keeping track of a document that's being edited in real time - possibly by multiple people.

I'll keep an open mind about it, but so far the hype has been bigger than the payoff. Interesting but not world-changing. (Yet. I won't underestimate Google and what they may do with it.)

Edited to add: I do not have any invitations to give out, otherwise I'd be happy to do so. It would be nice to have a B&B presence and see how that might go.

As a Real Estate agent, I have to deal with 40-100 documents on any transaction. If I am dealing with a team partner, I can see some real value to wave in the future. I am sure it is not quite ready for the real world yet, but I would love to have an invite myself. There are several agents across the US now experimenting with Wave.

I just got an invite about a week ago. I think google wave is promising, the issue I have at the moment - none of my other friends have it yet. So, I havent worked with it too much so far. It looks to be a great social networking platform. Although I have some privacy concerns about it. My biggest beef is that a friend could send out a wave with you attached to it, then everyone else in the Wave has access to you... since they see your google wave email address. That makes me little upset. I see spam as being a large issue down the road. They will have to institute some sort of control over some of the privacy concerns. But aside from that it looks to be a fun way to interact / communicate / collaborate...

PS, first person to PM me a Gmail address gets an invite - if they want one...

Hey guys!

I've been on Google Wave for about a week now... but so far it's been disappointing as none of my friends/contacts are on it. I also have yet to receive any invitations to try and rectify the problem. That said, if any of you want to add me for some shaving/gentlemanly chatter, please do, by all means!
