Irisch Moos AS

My brother returned from Germany, and I had given him a list of items that he might haul back .

I had told him I was after some Irisch Moos shaving Sticks, and when he stopped by the Ihr Platz, they were out! He did spot some of the AS, so he picked up a bottle.

So far I've just given it a whiff, and it does sort of remind me of Irish Spring, only a little more pleasant. I can't think of an American counterpart.

I'm sure the bride will be thrilled to find another bottle in the bathroom...:biggrin1:

If you're really keen on Irisch Moos shave sticks check out Ebay Germany. Looks like some sellers have the sticks for EUR5.95 (plus shipping of course and that may be the killer). It might be worth shooting someone an e mail to check the pricing.
Good Moos hunting:laugh:

Good luck with the AS. I tried some at Merz Apothecary in Chicago and I thought that it smelled pretty nice. Unfortunately, I had spent my allowance already on soap. I've been thinking about getting a buddy of mine who retired to Germany to gather up some stuff and send it to me--maybe I'll give it a shot.

What did you think of the Sir I.M. AS?

i like the scent, but don't think it goes on quite as nicely as some other. it's a little bit thin.

I grew a bit tired of the scent, to be honest. I have used up about half a bottle, and have another one in its box gathering dust at the moment. It has a fairly sharp and herbal fragrance, and reminds me of the smell of a chain of nature stores here in the Netherlands (De Tuinen---the Gardens---if this happens to mean anything to you). It's not an unpleasant smell, but neither do I want to be smelling it all the time. It's probably because of the rather strong earthly undertones (it is, after all, called 'moos' for a reason).

I rather like the shower gel, though. That undertone isn't present in this product, resulting in something which is very green and very refreshing to start the day with (or to wash it away when it's been hot and murky).

I adore the soap but can't handle the scent of the AS. Nausea & headache stuff I'm afraid. For me, it's just way too perfumy, too sweet. It smells not only 'green' but also red or purple to my nose, if that makes any sense...

I can't comment on the qualities, as I traded it after a sniff...I liked the scent, but it came in a lot that contained some Tabac soap, and after using that I simply had to have the cologne.

I know you'll find this hard to believe, but my bride somehow thinks that more than twenty bottles on the bathroom counter is too much, so in order to justify the Tabac, the I.M. had to go. If I'd had the soap, too, I might have kept it as a set.

Well, you can't be married and have everything....:biggrin1:
